The HPAT-Ireland entrance examination Health Professions Admission Test-Ireland, or HPAT-Ireland, is the name of the admissions test. Australia's ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) independently administers this exam. The HPAT-Ireland test evaluates a candidate's capacity for logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, nonverbal reasoning, and the capacity to comprehend the thoughts, actions, and/or intentions of others. Candidates don't need to have specialised knowledge in any academic discipline, and there is no test of academic knowledge. A practice booklet with worked answers is given to all candidates because it would be beneficial for them to be somewhat familiar with the question types generally used in HPAT-Ireland. The exam results will be used in conjunction with the results of the Leaving Certificate Examination to select candidates for undergraduate medical school programmes. Test Format in 2023 Remote proctoring will still be used to administer the HPAT-Ireland exam online. The test will continue to last two and a half hours and be divided into three modules or sections: (i) Problem-Solving and Logical Reasoning 2. Interpersonal comprehension Non-Verbal Reasoning (iii) Each question has four or five possible answers in a multiple-choice style, and the candidate must select the one that best fits the question.

There are a few days after the original 4-day exam window set out for test takers to reschedule in case of technological issues. For individuals who are unable to finish the test via remote proctoring, a modest test centre will be open on February 25.
